Zachary Freiman '20 is a legislative aide for Rep. Shontel Brown (D-Ohio) and his time at Pomona gave him a solid foundation for the job.

From sciences to the arts, Pomona faculty and staff members secured numerous grant awards during the 2021–22 academic year.

Maggie Fick has been the East Africa deputy bureau chief for Reuters since 2017. In November, she will begin a new London-based job at Reuters reporting on the European pharmaceuticals industry on the global health and pharma team.

Saahil Desai ’16 joined the staff of The Atlantic in 2018, where he is a senior associate editor and covers politics and policy. Before The Atlantic, he was a digital editor at The Washington Monthly.

Leah Donnella ’13  is an editor with the NPR Code Switch team. She joined NPR in 2015. She created “Ask Code Switch” in which team members answer listener questions about race, culture and identity in everyday experience.

Hugo Martín ’87 is a business writer who covers the travel industries, including airlines and theme parks, for the Los Angeles Times. He was part of the Metro staff that won three Pulitzer Prizes.

The PAYS program gives rising 10^th through 12^th graders from groups underrepresented in higher education a full-immersion experience at �պ����� over three summers, fully free of charge.
