In conjunction with President's Advisory Council on Diversity's "Know YOUR History" series, a conversation between �պ����� Professor Gilda Ochoa and artist Linda Vallejo on "What it Means to be Brown" on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, 4:15 p.m. at Smith Campus Center 208, �պ�����.

Gilda Ochoa is a Professor of Chicanx/Latinx Studies. She writes about race/ethnicity, education, and communities. She has written three award-winning books: “Academic Profiling: Latinos and Asian Americans and the Achievement Gap,” “Learning from Latino Teachers” and “Becoming Neighbors in a Mexican American Community: Power, Conflict, and Solidarity.”

Linda Vallejo consolidates multiple, international influences gained from a life of study and travel throughout Europe, the United States and Mexico to works that investigate contemporary cultural, spiritual and political issues. Vallejo was featured in the 2016 LA Times Calendar Section piece - #OscarsSoBrown.
